Lifting of the Asset Freeze on the Client’s Funds Totalling USD 87,815

Grain Law Firm announces the successful defense of its Client’s property rights in the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv. As part of criminal proceedings, law enforcement authorities had placed a freeze on funds seized during a search, despite the lack of any connection between the assets and the subject matter of the investigation.

Alina Davydova, Counsel and Attorney-at-Law at Grain Law Firm, demonstrated the lawful origin of the assets in court and refuted the prosecution’s allegations regarding their “criminal origin”. A key argument was that the amount of the seized funds was nearly double the size of the damages established in the proceedings. The defense successfully convinced the court that further restriction of property rights was groundless due to the absence of evidence linking the funds to the offense.

The court ruled to lift the freeze and return the assets in full: USD 87,815, EUR 2,490, and GBP 180.
